See what I did there? I know, pretty clever...haha
It is almost Halloween and that means to bring out your inner child, dress up, drink, eat candy, party and have fun. Jack and I bought our place in 2013 and every year since we have hosted the Halloween Party at our place. Like most who grew up in a rural town you go trick or treating but have farther between houses to go then say Jack who lived in a planned community where the homes are basically touching. My point being that my love for Halloween has only grown from there.
So, yesterday we had our Halloween party. Last year, IT was released, and Jack and I had read the book and saw the original and latest movie. Yes, the book was better. One of Stephen Kings best works. Jack, being the talented artist that he is, had traced out an outline of IT on a black plastic tablecloth. Yes, plastic. Then we cut him and hung him out. Then we add red balloons by his hand and tie a red balloon to the gutter outside. You will get the reference if you have seen it.

Our party would not be complete without my mother-in-laws Macaroni and cheese. Everyone loves it. We then make 3 pounds of Taco Bean soup/chili with taco seasoned ground turkey and place it in the crock pot to keep it warm. It is also nicely served over the Mac n Cheese.
I have had my fair share of Pinterest successes and failures but thankfully these were not fails, haha. Here are a few that I did and was pretty happy with how they turned
The party usually always ends up in the kitchen, and this party was not any different. We have gotten smarter over the years and the last two we had placed tablecloths cut to fit over the counters so it is easy clean up the next day. A little vacuuming and Swiffering of the floor and lots of recycling.

The garage is where the games take place, darts, Beirut (beer pong), and the crowd and my personal favorite; flip cup.
Scary decorations are a big necessity to have a successful Halloween party. Creepy dolls, courtesy of my sister-in-law, Julie, IT, lights, mummies, floating harry potter candles, skeleton bride and groom and door monster to name a few.
You can have the best food, decorations, music and the best costume but that will mean nothing unless you have people to share it with. This will not be the last time in a post I mention our core group of friends but they are all great to be around and are so fun.

Jack and I were Wendy Peffercorn and Squints from the SandLot. Notice that Paxton is always by our (my) side, he is my shadow.

Happy Halloween, stay creepy and wicked!!
